We have arrived in Georgia! We got lost in NC and nearly killed by snow and backroads but we made it! I officially live in Georgia! Kinda…gotta go look at houses. 💕💕💕
I’m rebagling this because I know I have a lot of friends in the Kylux fandom that live in the Peach State. Please welcome Kelley! ❤
Kylo just wants to ask Hux out on a date. That’s all he wants. Sure, he’s been closeted since he figured out he was gay, and he’s never gone on a date with anybody before, and also Hux intimidates the hell out of him–but how bad could it possibly be?
(It could be ‘proposing a celibate fake marriage to the guy you’ve been in love with for two years so he can get his inheritance’ bad, Kylo. That’s how bad it could be.)
It literally paints the fandom as a whole in bad light and the fact is we don’t have to seek it out if it shows up on the damn kylux ao3 blog. Think about the fact kylux is known by the main media now which means they’re gonna go searching to make funny videos of all the fanfic they find and they stumble on a fic describing how hot it is that a 30 year old man is fucking a 13 year old.
Now imagine if Disney really wanted to shut fanfic down as a whole due to association which legally they can do due to copyright.
But you know what do i know I’m just a csa survivor no big deal
This is not a witch hunt you abominable coward hiding their opinion about CP in the fandom under an anon ask. Witches are nice. This is a pedophile hunt. We hunt pedos in the fandom. We expose them.
If someone writes a 15k fic that’s all about describing in great details 13yo Hux being repeatedly sexually abused by an adult Kylo, guess what, it’s CP.
You can choose to pretend you didn’t see anything and continue living your life and pretend this is a great fandom or you can choose to expose people who get off on pedophilia to 1: warn the shippers who have been unaware of it (I was RECCED that fic yesterday on twitter with the only warning being it’s « so bad but so good ») and 2: hopefully get that person to stop tainting our fandom with that shit. Glorification of very underage sex is not a kink, it’s not an edgy and dark interest. It’s exactly what it is, getting off to little kids being raped.
You assholes never hesitated to report innocent people for that and yet when these things happen for real you all want « no drama ». Well fuck you.
I think anon doesn’t know what “witch hunt” stands for. Witch hunt is actually used when someone is being “persecuted” for harmless things they do. Do you want to know what isn’t remotely harmless? Sexual victimization of children and teens.
That fanfic (where one is 13yo and the other an adult) isn’t one where child sexual victimization (yes, that’s the actual term for those who play fool and hide behind the word “porn”) is used as a narrative devise to explain the background of a character, that fic is literally child sexual victimization erotica. It is meant to arouse and get off people who are preferential pedophiles/ebophiles.
This isn’t about censorship, this isn’t about blue balling people, this is about an extremely delicate and serious issue that needs to be addressed in fiction and reality: the sexual victimization of children and teens (I’m repeating it once more so it’s absolutely clear and you can’t play fool). So no, this isn’t a witch hunt, this is calling out harmful content that feeds dangerous fantasies of dangerous people.
This ^^^
Child pornography has no place in fanfiction. Period. It’ not a dead dove/don’t eat thing. It’s not a kink.
I know that purity police has muddied the term pedophilia. It doesn’t mean that the issue is any less serious.
As woe says, there are obvious differences between a fic that includes the abuse of an underage character as part of their character arc and overall narrative, and a PWP that describes the abuse of a child with the same terminology as any run-of-the-mill smut-fic.
Dealing with heavy themes in fiction, describing stuff that are revolting in real life is perfectly fine. Delighting in child pornography is a different matter. It’s not to be tolerated.
