I came upon Kylux fandom on the web-site https://holywarsoo.net/, in the section dedicated to fandoms and roleplaing. There was a schism in Star Wars topic, kyluxers were forcibly evicted by reyloers and have opened their own topic, with eggs and tentacles.

There were several rec lists. First I looked at art. Art was interesting. But at the time I haven’t watched the TFA, so I didn’t know for sure who were the guys.

Then I decided to read something from the lists. I started with this:

Comment that made me chose it was: “Finally, a fic about people who have spent a month in the woods and haven’t had anal sex!”

Naturally, I was intrigued.
Story is good, sad and sex here is heartbreaking.

Next was, I think:

Honeycomb by @bettydays

It is kind of 50 shades… but much better. Feels real (and somehow more responsible).

After that I kind of have drown in fanfiction, and I’m not trying to recommend everything I liked, but at least some of it.

Really, the starting point is hilarious. Agent is sent to an elit BDSM brothel for a month on government account to investigate.

But it is more serious than it may look. I dearly like the part, when Hux (dom) finds out that Ben lied about his sexual fantasies and actually has none, cos he works too much.

I also liked the theme of erectile dysfunction. Sometimes I get tired of heroes that fuck as rabbits, no matter what are their age, health and circumstances.

It also makes me a little sad when I think about lots of vanilla guys that you can not trust a thing. And here we have a dom who is trustworthy and caring. Well, I like the trend of “competent dom Hux”.

And sex on the train is actually good in my opinion. Trains have that fine rocking rhythm.

The story is strangely disturbing. Kylo is a hooker here, Hux is a client. Porn doesn’t work for me here. It looks like a part of a trick, a curse, some sinister conspiracy. Both sides are lonely and lost and there is almost no human connection. I’d really like to know what the author has planned for them.

Here I want to digress and talk about Snoke. We don’t know much about him, but his appearance in almost every work brings me feelings of danger, threat, disgust… Maybe it is because he is probably a creature that abuses underage and mentally-ill person. Therefore my basic reaction is: spare me the details, hang the bastard! Here Snoke looks particulary suspicious.

I generally don’t like gore, but I like to read about Kylo being desperately in love and Hux being in love and manipulative at the same time.

Maybe because I’ve read it in the night, listening to Carpenters, or maybe because I’ve spent a lot of time in my 20th alone in the house in the woods, thinking that noone would even find my body if anything happened to me… I had an uneasy day afterwards. Images from the story lingered.

It is really beautifull, and I’d like to translate it into Russian someday.

Medical kink. Well, in the biginning it was kink and interesting plot, but then, again, that Snoke effect. I stopped in the middle of the story, because I’ve suspected that something bad is going to happen and was not ready to feel it. But I’m going to continue reading.

And I also liked the part where Hux thinks that maybe his libido is not enough. This is also a rare thing.

I’m going to rec fluffy and fun and, first of all, I want to mention people with a gift and a curse of imagination 🙂
