Ben Solo and his best friend, Armitage Hux, have known each other their entire lives … but perhaps they don’t know each other as well as they think. With the onset of a new school year, and the awakening of each boy’s differing sexualities, a confession from one of them changes the nature of their relationship forever. Good (and bad) times abound as they go through changes at school, in their home lives, and with each other.

It’s finals week and I really should be working on my ethnography and screenplay BUT. I got super motivated to draw baby Ben at work and I couldn’t focus at all until I drew him… so here he is, precious child💕

ft. Luke, the most patient uncle in the world. (for those who haven’t read Allemande, he is also deaf and lost his hearing the same way Ben did–multiple ear infections.) he’s teaching Ben the sign for “sing/singing.”

What’s your total word count on AO3? 

It’s 485245, but this includes a number of collabs I’ve done with folks like @nerdherderette , @pandalolli, and @gentleman-caller, so I do not lay claim to all these words. 😉

How often do you write?

As often as my flaky-ass bitch of a muse will let me.

Do you have a routine for writing?

Take a deep breath and hope for the best?

Honestly, I have to have a very particular atmosphere. I can’t have noise (like a TV in another room), or music with words, and even then only certain kinds of visual scenes in fics work listening to instrumental stuff. I have a laptop in my bed with a bottle of water nearby, and pillows surrounding me. I call it my nest. 

Once I have taken up residence in the nest and all circumstances are favorable, I then have to force myself not to do things like look at Tumblr (AHHAHAHAHH HERE I AM), get lost down research rabbit holes, or start doubting everything and give up and go play the Sims.

What some might call a routine I call a constant battle. My creativity has to be extracted from the chaos and many days the chaos has more energy than me!

What are your favorite kinks/tropes/pairings?

Oh lord. Do I admit to them all? I mean, the evidence is out there if one were to scroll the things I leave kudos on. o.O

“Kinks” I suppose would include mpreg / male lactation / tentacles / oviposition / COMPETENT REN / BAMF HUX  

(I mean I could call these tropes but let’s face it, competent Ren and bamf Hux are straight up kinks, I love it, it does it for me.)

“Tropes” It’ll be a cold day in Hell before I get tired of fake relationship fic. I really don’t care what kind of relationship they are faking or why, as long as they end up falling in love in the end. OH NO THERE’S ONLY ONE BED! WHAT DO?

Enemies to Lovers is a balm to my soul. 

What if there was Enemies to FAKE LOVERS to REAL LOVERS??? O.O Someone write this.

Do you have a favourite fic of yours?

The Roof of the Night . It is perhaps the one fic I’ve written where I managed to do exactly what I intended to do with the characterization and plot. I still hate the ending but I think I fixed it with Threshold (which yes, I will finish SOON).

Anything you don’t like about your writing?

Hmm. I feel like I get caught up so much in the headspace of characters that I gloss over details of the surroundings. I also wish that I would adopt a process where I would write a whole fic from beginning to end before I share / publish it, because I will look back on the first chapters of some stories and have no idea what I was thinking with the characterization (like, the omg wtf kind of ‘no idea’). And writing endings. I suck at that. I have to keep writing sequels just to fix the endings of the ones that came before. >:P

Now something you do like?

Eh it’s been a good way to process things, especially the realities of mental health stuff and how that figures in to living life.
